We went over to Kelly and Nate's (Paul's sisters) to play a board game called sequence. Paul thought it would be funny to stack them on his head to see if that would wake him up. Needless to say not even that worked.
Joel had his doctors appointment today and boy let me tell you he is a growing boy. He is now 21 and a half inches and 9 lbs 7 ounce. Pretty amazing if you ask me he is 3 weeks old today!!!
Joel was blessed at church on Sunday. For those that don't know it's just something that the babies father does, kind of a prayer for the child (that's the best way I can explain it). Doesn't he look cute in his little outfit. The guys in the top picture are family and friends and they were apart of it.
Joel Landon Tanner was born at 2:38pm on Monday September 10th 2007. He weight's 8lbs 8oz, and is 19 and a half inches long. And boy is he such a CUTIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Joel was born really fast. We were over at Paul's sister's house watching our nephew Tanner while my sister in-law and brother in-law cleaned up the apartment they just moved out of (Tanner is crawling that's why we were called in for help). So anyway I felt the need to get up and go to the bathroom well when I got in there it felt like he just kicked the bottom of my uterus and I felt a pop! Well you guessed it my water broke, pretty convenient it breaking while on the toilet. Contractions started shortly after. This happened at 1 pm. We called the hospital and the nurse said to lay down, and I basically said I don't think so. We then called my doctors office and they said go to the hospital. Between 1pm and 1:10pm I had 6 contractions. We got to the hospital and Paul says it made him think of something you see in a movie because when we got in there I was screaming and was very impatient letting the world know how much pain I was in. We get in there and the nurse tried to take me to a prep room and then realized when I stood up that I was not kidding when I said my water broke (I was soaked). They took me immediately took me to a delivery room. They checked me and discovered I was fully ready to go. So by 1:30pm I started pushing and he was here an hour later. So just in case you haven't figured it out I did it all with no drugs (even though I wanted some I was to far along). We are now home and slowly recovering.
Okay we had our visit to the doctor today! The heart beat was 147bpm and his head is down. He is healthy and happy. The doctor also had us go up to the hospital to do a no stress test where they check the babies movement to the heart rate to make sure the heart rate accelerates when he moves. Everything went great and he is moving plenty. We will see the doctor again next week.
Alright everyone we are at 35 weeks and have 5 more to go. We had our doctor appointment today and were told that it is time to start coming in every week instead of every two weeks. (So now we are getting serious). The doctor also said that if I do go into labor anytime that we are at the point now that they will not stop it. So that's very exciting news don't you think! Our little boy is still great his heartbeat was at 136bpm today.
Well Paul was at work yesterday and had an accident. Let me tell you the story. So most of you know that he works at a motor sports store putting four wheelers and motorcycles together. Well when they finish putting them together they are suppose to ride them and make sure that they run correctly. So he took one of the motorcylce's out when he finished it and was driving down the road. Well while he was riding a bee got underneath his shorts and stung him and that of course caused a reaction making him jerk his leg and his foot pushed down on the back brake. (He then looked like a little kid riding on two wheels for the first time making the front of the motorcycle swerve really rapidly). The bike then fell to the ground on its side and he skidded on the road on his side. Luckily he was only traveling 20mph and he just got bruised, scraped up pretty bad (and of course he was wearing a helmet he is not stupid).
Well final grades are in and are posted. I ACED my Religion class, I am quite proud of myself. Okay I know that it was only on class, but I have to tell you all that it was a challenging class and that's because of the huge work load it had. I thought that it was maybe just me but I ran into a guy from my class who is pretty smart (I could tell critiquing his papers every once in a while)the other day and he was sure glad the class was over because of the work load being so demanding. That's the way school is though demanding (all those who have experienced college I'm sure would agree). For those who do not know I am taking the Fall off from school because that's when the baby arrives, however I will be starting back up in the Winter (so January).
